1. Intended Use
Zap is intended only for use with compatible P1 smart meters as listed on our compatibility guide at support.sourceful.energy
It is not a toy and must be kept out of reach of children.
It is for indoor, dry environments only. Avoid moisture and heat. Ensure protection from rain, snow, and direct sunlight.
Zap reads data from the electricity meter via the P1 port to display and analyse energy consumption.
2. Electrical Safety
Zap is powered directly from the P1 port and should not need any external power.
If you are using it to power another P1 reader on the OUT port, the USB-C cable needs to be connected for external power.
Do not connect Zap to any non-compliant or unknown P1 port, as this may result in damage to the device or smart meter.
Inspect the device before use. Do not use if it appears damaged or if the casing is cracked.
3. Installation and Handling
Installation should only be carried out by competent individuals.
Incorrect connection may affect the smart meter or data reporting.
Do not expose Zap to moisture, liquids, or temperatures outside the operating range (typically -20°C - +40°C).
Ensure the device is securely and fully inserted into the P1 port to avoid intermittent contact or signal loss.
4. Wireless Communication
The device includes WiFi and Bluetooth radios. Ensure compliance with local radio regulations before use.
Do not operate Zap inside shielded enclosures or near medical equipment unless proper testing has been conducted.Requires WiFi and Sourceful Energy App
5. Interference and EMC
Zap complies with EU EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) regulations. However, if interference occurs with nearby devices, try relocating Zap or adjusting your WiFi settings.
6. Disposal and Recycling
Do not dispose of Zap in household waste. This electronic device must be disposed of in accordance with local WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) regulations.

7. Zap is manufactured for Sourceful Energy by Smartstuff
Zap conforms to standards EN 300328, EN 301489, IEC 62311 and EN 62368-1
The Zap meets EU safety and environmental standards (CE marked).
