Deye Inverter Configuration Guide

How to connect Deye inverters to Sourceful Zap via Modbus RTU (RS485).

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Prerequisites

  • Sourceful Zap

  • CAT6 FTP ethernet cable (one end will be stripped)

Compatible Models

Microinverters

  • SUN-G3-EU-230 Series (300W to 2000W)

Hybrid Inverters

  • SUN-5/6/8/10/12K-SG04LP3-EU

  • SUN-12/14/16K-SG01LP1-EU

  • SUN-5/6/8/10/12/15/20/25K-SG01HP3-EU

  • SUN-(29.9-50)K-SG01HP3-EU

Wiring

Communication between the Sourceful Zap and Deye inverters uses Modbus RTU (RS485).

Strip one end of the ethernet cable. Use the green pair:

  • Pin 1 (green/white) = 485_B

  • Pin 2 (green) = 485_A

Zap Side

  • Connect 485_A (green) to the Zap A+ terminal

  • Connect 485_B (green/white) to the Zap B- terminal

Inverter Side

Plug the RJ45 end into the correct port for your model:

  • SG04LP3-EU → port labeled Meter-485

  • SG01LP1-EU → port labeled Modbus RS-485

  • SG01HP3-EU → port labeled RS485

Do not use the BMS, Parallel, CAN, or DRM ports.

Inverter Setting

On the inverter display, navigate to:

Settings → Advanced Function → Paral. Set3

Set Modbus SN to 01.

Troubleshooting

If RS485 communication is not working:

  1. Verify the Modbus SN is set to 01

  2. Double-check you are using the correct port for your inverter model

  3. Ensure all cable connections are firmly seated
