Testing Modbus TCP Connectivity

How to verify your Modbus TCP connection is working after configuration.

Updated this week

After configuring Modbus TCP on your inverter, verify that the connection is working correctly using our testing guide.

Default Modbus TCP Ports

Each inverter brand uses a different port. Make sure to use the correct one when testing:

  • Huawei — port 6607

  • Deye — port 8899

  • Fronius — port 502

  • SolarEdge — port 1502

  • Sungrow — port 502

  • Ferroamp — port 502

Unit ID

The Unit ID is typically set to 1. If that doesn't work, try 0.

Notes

  • For Huawei with restricted access mode enabled, make sure you are testing from an allowed IP address.

  • For SolarEdge, ensure Modbus TCP is enabled via the SetApp (port 1502).

  • Only one Modbus TCP client can connect at a time for most inverters.
