Solis - Activate Modbus TCP
Modbus TCP is enabled by default on Solis inverters
- When the Sourceful gateway connects to the inverter, it may interrupt the Solis dongle connection
- This means the Solis mobile app may not receive data while the gateway is connected
- Monitor your system through the Sourceful Energy mobile app instead
Locating Your Inverter
Choose one of these methods:
- Use the IP Scanner in our mobile app to identify the inverter IP
- Use your router's interface to find the inverter IP
Connection Details
Default Modbus TCP settings:
- Protocol: TCP
- Default Port: 502
- Unit ID: 1
Troubleshooting
Connection Issues
If you experience connection problems:
- Verify inverter power status
- Check network connectivity
- Ensure no other devices are currently connected via Modbus TCP
- Verify port 502 is accessible
- Test using Modbus diagnostic tool
Mobile App Access
If the Solis mobile app shows no data:
- This is expected behavior when the Sourceful gateway is connected
- Use the Sourceful Energy mobile app to monitor your system
- If needed, temporarily disconnect the Sourceful gateway to use the Solis app
Testing Connectivity (advanced)
You can follow our testing guide to confirm that a connection can be established. For Solis inverters, try port 502. The Unit ID is typically set to 1.
